Admission

When does the admission process begin?
Admissions typically open in February–March for the next academic year (April start). Online applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year subject to seat availability. Early applications are strongly recommended.
What classes are available for admission?
Path Bhaban offers admission to Classes V through XII. This includes primary (V–VIII), secondary (IX–X) and higher secondary (XI–XII) levels. Stream options for Class XI are Science, Arts and Commerce.
What documents are required for admission?
Required documents include: Birth Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Previous Class Mark Sheet, Transfer Certificate (TC) from previous school, 4 passport-size photographs, Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable) and Medical Fitness Certificate.
Is there an entrance test for admission?
A brief interaction and basic assessment is conducted for students joining Class V and Class XI. For Classes VI–X, admission is primarily based on previous class marks and availability of seats. No formal entrance examination.
Can students from other states or boards apply?
Yes, students from any state or educational board are welcome to apply. They must provide equivalent certificates, Transfer Certificate and all required documents. Admission is subject to seat availability.
What is the fee refund policy if we wish to withdraw?
The admission fee (one-time) is non-refundable. Monthly fees paid in advance will be refunded on a pro-rata basis after deducting a processing fee, provided the withdrawal is submitted in writing with one month's notice.
How do I track my online application status?
After submitting the online form, save your auto-generated Admission Number. Contact the school office at +91 7797078169 or email Pathbhaban2025@gmail.com to check the status of your application.
Can I apply offline instead of online?
Yes, application forms are available at the school office during working hours (Monday–Saturday, 8 AM–4 PM). You can also download the form from our Downloads section and submit it at the office in person.

Academic

What board does Path Bhaban follow?
Path Bhaban follows the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) for Classes V to X and the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) for Classes XI and XII.
What subjects/streams are offered in Class XI?
Three streams are available: (1) Science – Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics; (2) Arts – Bengali, English, History, Political Science, Geography, Philosophy; (3) Commerce – Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics. Stream allocation is based on Class X marks.
Are smart classes and digital learning available?
Yes, all classrooms are equipped with interactive smart boards, HD projectors and digital content libraries. Teachers use multimedia tools to make lessons more engaging, visual and easy to understand.
What is the medium of instruction?
The primary medium of instruction is Bengali, with English as a compulsory subject from Class V onwards. Higher secondary students also have the option of English medium for some subjects.
Are extra/remedial classes available?
Yes, extra classes and remedial sessions are organised for students who need additional support, especially for Class X and XII board exam preparation. These sessions are held on weekdays before or after regular school hours.
How are examinations conducted throughout the year?
The academic year includes: Unit Tests (monthly), Half-Yearly Examination (September) and Annual Examination (February–March). Class X and XII students appear for WBBSE Madhyamik and WBCHSE HS board exams respectively.

Hostel

Is hostel facility available for students?
Yes, Path Bhaban provides comfortable hostel accommodation for both boys and girls in completely separate wings with individual wardens. The facility is available for students of Classes V to XII.
What is included in the hostel fee?
The hostel fee of ₹8,000/month covers accommodation, three nutritious meals per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner), laundry facilities, study hall access and security. Uniform and personal expenses are separate.
What are the visiting hours for parents?
Parents can visit their ward every Sunday between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Parents are requested to inform the warden at least 24 hours in advance. Emergency visits require prior approval from the Principal.
What food is provided in the hostel?
A pure vegetarian menu is served — three balanced meals per day. The menu is planned by a nutritionist and rotated weekly. Special dietary requirements due to medical conditions can be accommodated with a doctor's certificate.
Is Wi-Fi available in the hostel?
A Wi-Fi enabled study hall is available in the hostel. Students can use internet during dedicated study hours (7 PM–9 PM daily) for academic purposes. Personal devices are not permitted in hostel rooms.

Fees

What are the fee payment modes accepted?
Fees can be paid by: (1) Cash at the school accounts office, (2) Online bank transfer (NEFT/UPI), or (3) Demand Draft in favour of "Path Bhaban". Receipts are issued for all payments.
Are fee concessions available for economically weaker students?
Yes. Fee concessions of up to 50% are available for students from economically weaker sections (EWS) upon submission of valid income certificate. Applications for concession must be submitted at the time of admission.
Are there any merit scholarships?
Yes, merit scholarships are awarded annually to the top-performing students in each class based on annual examination results. These scholarships provide fee waivers for the subsequent academic year.
When is the monthly fee due?
Monthly fees are due by the 10th of each month. A late fee of ₹100 is charged for payments made after the 15th. Non-payment for two consecutive months may result in suspension from classes.

General

What are the school timings?
School hours are Monday to Saturday: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. On Saturdays, school closes at 1:00 PM. The school remains closed on Sundays, public holidays and during declared vacations.
Is school transport available?
Yes, school buses operate on 5 routes covering Buniadpur, Banshihari, Narayanpur and surrounding areas. The transport fee is ₹800–₹1,200 per month depending on the distance. Contact the office for route details.
Is uniform mandatory?
Yes, all students must wear the prescribed school uniform on all working days: white shirt/blouse with navy blue trousers/skirt. Black shoes and white socks are compulsory. Sports uniform is provided separately.
